Use your phone as a webcam on Welder in a few simple steps

Step by step tutorial to connect any mobile phone (iOS & Andrioid) to any computer (MacOS, Windows) and use it as webcamera. For free!

I am using: MacOS & iPhone

Needed: Welder & NeuralCam, computer, iPhone & USB cable

1. Connect your computer and phone through a USB cable
Make sure to stay connected throughout the whole recording process

2. Get the
NeuralCam app from App Store
Free (up to 1080p)

3. Open the phone app and allow access to the camera

4. AirDrop or send through mail the MacOS driver and install it as the app prompts you to

5. Start Welder and choose NeuralCam in Welder camera settings

I’m using: Windows & Android phone

Needed: Welder & DroidCam, computer, Android phone & USB cable

1. Connect your computer and phone through a USB cable
Make sure to stay connected throughout the whole recording process

2. Download and install
DroidCam client to your computer

3. Get the DroidCam app from Google Play
Free version (limited to 480p)
Pro version DroidCamX (up to 1080p)

4. Make sure USB Debugging is enabled on your phone
Check this tutorial on how to enable it:

5. Open the DroidCam app on your phone
Skip through the introduction and allow permission to use the camera & microphone. You should end up with a screen showing you the DroidCam Port (something like 4747).

6. Open the DroidCam client on your computer
Choose the USB option, make sure the DroidCam port is the same as on your phone and pick the right device (your phone), then click Start.

7. Start Welder and choose DroidCam in Welder camera settings

I’m using a combination of the above

Needed: Welder & EpocCam, computer, Android phone or iPhone & USB cable

1. Connect your computer and phone through a USB cable
Make sure to stay connected throughout the whole recording process
Note: Some specific combinations might not work through a USB cable.
An alternative solution is to connect both devices to the same WiFi network.

2. Download and install the
EpocCam drivers to your computer
Working on Windows or MacOS

3. Get the EpocCam mobile app
Free version is limited to 480p
Android, iOS

Pro version goes up to 1080p
Android, iOS

4. Make sure USB Debugging is enabled on your phoneOnly with Android.

5. Open the EpocCam app on your phone
Make sure to allow access to the camera

6. Open the EpocCam viewer on your computer
Only in Windows, macOS doesn’t have a dedicated app.
